A machine that consumes massive quantities of mana, concentrating it at a single point and releasing it towards its enemy. The kingdom was determined to use it for war. Well, as a result, it was depleting the amount of mana far too rapidly from the world for the spirits to maintain a natural balance.. which I'm certain you can imagine what would have happened if all the source of life were to disappear.
