[Poly Entry 11:] Decent food GET!

[Have a scene where it appears to look like a view from the edge of a counter, which one can deduce as the kitchen from the refrigerator seen in the center of the screen along with the pile of dishes and towels everywhere. One perfect mess that can be expected of the home of a diligent researcher ~~without his girlfrie.. I mean assistant;; /cough~~.

The sound of sluggish foot steps are heard when the gray-haired man finally managed to drag himself into the kitchen for, what he hoped, a decent morning breakfast. A scratch of his head, a light yawn and his stomach growling, he hadn't eaten anything decent since yesterday besides drink plenty of water ~~and alcohol~~ and possibly nibble at what seemed edible amongst the excessive pile of grease that he was forced to eat. In fact, the pile of towels were all covered in nothing but grease from trying to dab some of it off the food. A quick glance towards his efforts made the man sigh as he placed a hand onto his forehead.

What a mess...

He reluctantly opened the frig when the expression on his face spoke for him- a relieved smile on his face. If one were to observe closely enough, a sneaky saliva glistened by the corner of his mouth. Klarth basked in its glory for a few more seconds like an idiot before taking a few things out to make and bringing it over to the counter. Noticing that the device was on, he quickly picked it up.]

Achaaaa... This thing was on all night? Geez... Where is my head, honestly.

[He gave it a weary look before turning it off.]

[ooc: Hey just returned from a long hiatus! And so, to explain what Klarth's been doing, he's been first checking on his friends when they were here, then a short grievance process since they all left him so he did quite a bit of thinking to himself and what to do next for a few days, and then back to researching the new information he was able to acquire before those ppl left. He was also helping people during Prince Nuada's raid and usual things when there's a curse going on and so forth. If there's a conflict let me know! But those are my assumptions for now~ also this is backdated to morning! Thanks!]

[He watched the girl rush off and gave a faint smile while turning off the device. He mumbled the words "It's nice being young~" as he went off to prepare breakfast with another slight yawn and put on a proper attire before her arrival.

A little while after, he sat in the kitchen with a cup of coffee, reading a book as he waited for his guest. His mind gradually sunk into a deep thought of the precious item in the next room.]

[There had been so much going on--she hated to admit it, but Rita had been so distracted by the usual City chaos that she had forgotten one of the things she most wanted to see. Oh well, this was her chance.

By the time she was pounding on the door, she could barely keep still in her excitement.]

[ooc: No problem! I kinda crashed into bed after work yesterday anyway, so I'm a bit late myself.]

[The sudden knock brought him out of his thoughts and quickly went to go answer.]

[He opened the door and the first thing he noticed was just how small she really was. From a quick glance, she was about Arche's height if not shorter compared to his 5'7". Truly a child. But he quickly cast aside his bias thoughts for he knew better than to think that. She was highly intelligent for her age. A genius even. He offered a smile and stepped to the side to let her in.]

Yo. It's an honor to finally meet you in person, Rita. Please come in.

[ooc; Awww no prob! Hope you got lots of rest~<3]

[Since she was pretty used to being shorter than almost everyone besides children, Rita wasn't especially surprised. She simply noted that he was about as tall as the old man.]

Yeah, same here. I've gotten so used to talking on these things now.

[She was referring to the communicators, of course, which were pretty handy despite their annoying tendency to activate at any time.

In any case, there was really only one thing on her mind right now and she wasted no time bringing it up as she entered the apartment.]

So what do want to test out first?

[He lead her into the living room where a single blueish red blade- the eternal sword- laid flat on the table. Klarth stopped before it and stared down as he softly spoke.]

Well, have a look at this. This is the Eternal Sword I previously spoke of during our last conversation. The Sword of Time that allows one to travel through space and time and also have access to see anything during any era with Origin's assistance.

[He let out a defeated sigh as he crossed his arms over his chest.]

Though as you could guess, neither was possible here. The deities must have somehow sealed those abilities.

[Her eyes lit up at the sight of the sword and she managed to--barely--hold herself back from snatching it up and examining it. Her voice was filled with wonder and intrigue as she spoke.]

This thing can really do all that? Incredible...

[But then her expression matched his when she heard that it didn't work here. Of course, she should've expected that.]

Ugh, it figures it wouldn't work here. The deities put some sort of power caps on everything, from what I've seen. I can't get some of my spells to work, even though the theory and power should be correct. I guess there's no way they'd leave something with abilities like this alone.

Abilities like this...the deities...Of course!

[Rita's brain latched onto a possibility, puzzling through an idea as her words came out in a rush.]

So many things in the City seem to have a relation to time, don't you think? The clock and the ticking, people not aging, all of us brought from different times in our worlds and returned to that exact moment--all of these.

If what you say about the sword is true, then those powers might be exactly the thing the deities don't want here. It's possible that this sword's abilities could overcome whatever's keeping us here!

[A pleased grin crept over his lips. This girl was catching on quicker than anyone he's known.]

Precisely what I was thinking.

One of the things I've noticed was whenever I've attempted to use its powers it would briefly start up and then cease immediately afterward. As if all of its powers were drained in an instant. The amount of mana necessary to summon Origin is far greater than that of, let's say Sylph, not to forget the length of time needed to build said mana and actually make the command. That's plenty of time for them to notice and stop it on the spot. Hence another reason why I've been able to summon the other spirits but not him per se. Well, of course, this is all just a theory.

What are some of the spells that haven't worked for you?

[Fascinating--she listened intently, absorbing this information.]

I see. So it's pretty likely that the mana is being siphoned off somehow before it can build up. Maybe that's what's preventing me from casting certain spells too.

If I just had my equipment, this would be easy to test, but...

[She frowned. Her instruments, her studies, everything she'd left behind when she came to the City would still be at home, in her world. Of course, there was a way to get it, but she pushed that thought aside for now.]

Anyway, this is just an idea, but--you're able to summon spirits with less mana, right? If there was a way we could take that mana and store it long term, then use all of it once, then--it could be possible.

The only spells I can't get to work are the really useful ones. It's the most powerful ones, advanced spells of any kind. I can't even manage a Tidal Wave, so I think a Meteor Storm would be out of the question...

[Equipment? It was interesting to imagine just what type of equipment the little genius would have stored at her place. Her trailing words and frown made it quite clear to him that they weren't anything that were here. Though... He carefully listened on. His smile grew as she continued. She was right on track.]

Precisely.

[He concurred despite how uneasy he felt to that thought. What they were thinking of was nothing more than creating another mana cannon that ended up destroying most, if not all of Midgalds. He thought further.

The stronger spells. Arche was able to pull off some of them, but it could have been due to her elven blood, naturally drawing in more mana than any ordinary human could. Blastia... Equipments... Klarth decided to trace back in their conversation.]

These equipments you spoke of, are they things that can't be replicated here?

Most of it, unfortunately. I've tried to put together what I can, but it looks like some of the materials just aren't available around here.

[She paused. It'd been frustrating, not just to be separated from her world and instruments, but also to be unable to recreate them as much as she could. It didn't help that she knew she would forget everything she had accomplished here when she returned, but sitting around doing nothing just didn't suit her.]

But I've been running a couple experiments lately--trying to combine mana use with the technology around here, electricity. So far, there haven't been too many problems, but I don't think it'd be enough to summon such a powerful spirit yet.

I see. The technology and materials here are different from those of my world as well. I have to admit, I was surprised to see that this world was capable of generating this much electricity without the use of Volt's powers, especially to move those machines known as the 'subway'.

[He sighed before remembering something else she spoke of.]

Blastia.. [He mumbled as a hint of excitement shone in his eyes.] Rita, if I'm not mistaken, you said that blastias were necessary for you to manipulate the aer and cast your spells, correct? Much like the accessories I have in order to help summon my spirits? [He lifted part of his dangling accessories from his wrist and around his neck. Perhaps with the use of a blastia, he'd be able to...]

Yeah, it sure was a surprise. But I have to say that all these things are pretty impressive, like that subway.

[Rita eyed the adornments immediately and remained fixated on them for a moment. He could summon spirits with these? At some point, she would have to get a closer look at them. Finally, she tore herself away long enough to remember what he said and raised a hand to tap the smooth surface of her own accessory, around her neck.]

...Yes, that's right, though this one I've configured to use mana instead. The effficiency isn't the same yet, but it's getting there.

So you're thinking this could help you summon Origin, right?

[His smile brightened and firmly nodded. One configured to use mana. It was perfect.]

That's right. If my thoughts are correct, it should help enhance the amount of mana usage while casting. It'll be a one shot try but possibly enough to summon Origin. [He stared at the accessory around her neck as he proposed his question.]

This is a rather odd suggestion, however, I can't help but ask. Have you tried utilizing two blastias at the same time?

[She caught on to what he was suggesting--utilizing both of their tools together--and it was an intriguing possibility. It had its issues, but...]

Two blastia at the same time...It can definitely be done. To use two blastia together, they have to be specially configured first or you'd run the risk of interference. There were a number of blastia that worked in sets.

But with a bodhi blastia like this one, the biggest problem is the user. Even though they were powered by aer, they're directly controlled by the person's mind. That's why casting spells requires so much concentration and eventually causes mental fatigue. Using two bodhi blastia together like that is too much a strain for a human, even though the output is more than doubled.

...I tried it once myself actually, when I first started researching blastia. All I really remember was a headache and a huge hole when I woke up.

[She paused a moment, then continued.]

Of course, those were with the old blastia. Now that it's mana-powered, it could work differently.

I see. [Klarth carefully listened as she spoke of her experience. Everything she said made complete sense. Even for him, summoning spirits one after another was no easy task and if it weren't for Mint and her charge ability, it wouldn't have been nearly as possible. He had to sympathize with her there. The little bit of hope returned though as soon as she mentioned the following.]

How so?

Well, mana is more stable than aer--that means two things. First of all, it's harder to utilize. Being more stable means that it doesn't react as easily, but that problem can be solved using the electricity here.

On the other hand, you don't need as much concentration to keep it under control. So considering that, using two together wouldn't put as much strain on the user's mind.

Then essentially, the electricity is acting as a core source, allowing one to direct the focus. Hm, sounds like a reasonable deduction. Either way, we won't know for certain unless we try. [He glanced back down at the accessory and then up towards her face. A determined look to his own face.]

Ok, let's give it a shot. That is, if you wouldn't mind I borrow it for this little experiment, Rita.

Yes, that's it.

[If it was anyone else and any old experiment, Rita would probably have flatly refused. As it was, she was just as enthusiastic about this as Klarth and he didn't seem like the kind of person who would mishandle it, either. So she undid the clasp that held the blastia in place and held it out for him.]

Here. Just make sure you're careful with it.

Of course, I'll be sure to do just that.

[As soon as she handed him the blastia, he instantly felt the power behind it- a certain energy channeling between his body and the accessory itself. It was similar yet different from others he has equiped in the past. Simply amazing. Klarth mimed Rita of where to place it and picked up the Eternal sword with great care. The diamond ring aleady on his finger, he moved to an open area of the room.

The summoner nodded towards Rita to signify his readiness before closing his eyes, holding the sword vertically before him. A moment later, a yellow glyph appeared on the floor as he began to chant.]

I, who have taken the vow... Grant me thy secret art... My name is Klarth F. Lester... Founded on thy pact with the ring... I cleanse this field of ritual...
