[The feed turns on as the man gives a slight nod with a tip of his hat to greet his viewers.]

Welcome visitors. My name is Klarth F. Lester and I have a few questions I would like to ask if I may be given a little bit of your time. Thank you.

[Private to Shing:]
The time has come to investigate. Are you ready?

[He gave a slight shocked look.]

You went all the way to Xanadu?! Haa... proves just how young you truly are.

[He weakly smiled and chuckled before returning his seriousness.]

If there isn't anywhere else you'd like to check. There's one other place that's been on my mind.

[He stared off towards the East with a hand to his waist.]

The City outskirts particularly the crossgates. It would be an ideal location to place a 'door' without attracting too much suspicion, don't you think?

[ooc; yeah until Caru made the map I totally thought the carousel wasn't as close to the fountain as it's depicted soo we're going to have to change the idea of investigating around the carousel since Klarth would have at least checked that area from how close it is. =TTWTT=;;; The crossgates is what I had in mind but if you could think of another location where they could possibly get attacked then I'm more than for your idea! Feel free to add to it~<333]

[Shing blinks a few times before he nods in reply, glancing at Klarth seriously.]

Lead the way. It makes the most sense, yeah...

( OOC: lol, I see... and yeah, that works for me! :O They can has big battle there? Though I do kinda want a sort of dungeon-type area for them to traverse before reaching hte crossgates, too... )

[He took another final glance around before softly prompting the boy to follow.]

All right, this way.

[As he headed down the alley and between the buildings, he started to sense an uneasy feeling. The further they headed down, the greater that feeling grew. As if eyes were staring at them. Klarth's own wandered from side to side, in attempt to find the source as he lightly ran through.]

Something is here... Be careful.

[ooc; Yup yup! And oh yeah! We could do that too! If that's the case then, I was thinking maybe bandits/thieves who are taking the opportunity to loot from the visitors? I'll leave that part up to you~ =^W^= <333 Feel free to be creative with it and I'll follow through~!]

[Shing nodded in caution, following Klarth down the alleyway and looking around for just what the other was looking for, but...

This was making him worry. Not to mention it made him wonder just what they were doing in the alleyway. Looking around, he paused, looking at Klarth oddly.]

Hey... you sure this is the right way?

[ OOC: YES. And maybe a monster or two from Poly's more recent events thats hiding out here? Either or. :O ]

Upon my arrival here, I received a map of the City. According to it, the gate shouldn't be much farther. Unless the recent events have changed its location as well.

[He could sense that Shing was picking up on the bad vibes as well. With that he encouraged them to move along quicker.]

Either way, let's hur--!!

[When he was about to finish the sentence, he quickly lifted his book to swat at a coming small blade. The figure leapt into the air and aimed right at them as well as two gruesome figures slowly charging at them by ground. Klarth prepared to back away and brace though, he wasn't much of the type to go blade to blade with an enemy. He would need Shing's support in order to pull off a spell.]

Gate...? You mean like an actual gate connecting--

[Whatever thoughts Shing was going to voice were ut off as they were attacked by several mysterious figures -- Shing wasted no time in rushing forward, slashing at one while whirling around in a wide arc to get to the others, whom had recoiled at the sudden sword swipes.]

( ooc: lol, totally. It does. \o/ )

[Good! Klarth stepped back with ease with Shing's help and quickly flipped his book opened as he began to softly chant. The accessory blastia from Rita, slowly began to glow brighter. This was the perfect time to see if it would work.]

My name is Klarth F. Lester... Founded on thy pact with the ring...
Guider of the ritual...
I, who am now bound by the vow...
Grant me thy secret art...
From within my hand, let thy form and power flourish!
Come forth, one who controls the four great elements ...

[Just a little more... He prayed Shing would be able to hold them off just a little longer. One began to head for the summoner as the leader and the other continued to attack Shing after the recovery from the initial hit.]

[ooc; Awesomeness~<333 /o/]

[Meanwhile, Shing managed to hold off most of them well enough, until one slips by him and starts for Klarth.

Thinking quickly, Shing manages to rush back and hit the advancing shadow with a Beast arte, successfully stunning him as the swordsman kicks him back into the group, causing them to stumble as Shing continued his assault.]

Hurry, Klarth! I don't know how long I can keep this up!

[With a brighter glow of the blastia, Klarth opened his eyes and loudly called out the spirit's name as he swung his arm out to the side.]

The pact is complete!
Maxwell!

[And from above him, a sophisticated looking elderly man appeared within a bubble in his black scholarly attire. As he gestured, several more of him appeared out of the blue and began to rapidly attack their enemies from all directions, being certain to avoid hitting Shing in the process.

With loud agonizing grunts, he managed to finish off one, but there were still two left, though severely weakened on top of what the boy had already done. Klarth called out to signal his go, seeing it as an opportune moment for the finishing move.]

Now, Shing!

Got it--! Shine forth, my Spiria...!

[And because the mun is lazy, he'll just link what happens next, starting from 0:15 in this video.

[Needless to say, his Mystic Arte is enough to pretty much wipe the floor with the remaining figures, and one who managed to survive even flees the battle. GJ, Shing.]

[Klarth took a breather as he watched the boy at work. Another type of Arte that he's never seen before but one that reminded him of Cless nonetheless. He had to smile when he finished flawlessly and gave a relieved sigh to know that he didn't need to start chanting yet another spell.]

Superb, Shing. I believe that's all of them. Still... [He glanced around again to make sure he wasn't mistaken.] To think we would be ambushed, but it certainly makes sense that the bandits would choose such a day to attack.

[He fixed the hat on his head and secured his book under his arm.] In either case, let's hurry along. The gate shouldn't be much farther now.

...that's good. I was worried that they'd had backup, to be honest...

[Shing relaxes a little, but his guard still remains up as he glanced around, sword still out as he followed Klarth.]

A-all right... a gate, you say?

That's right.

[Down the alley and out, they came to an open area where the grand doors to the outskirts greeted them. Slightly catching his breath, Klarth walked up to it, placing a hand on its surface while examining it for any changes.]

I've come here once in the past, however, whether it connects to the same place may be another thing.

[He glanced back at Shing and gave a nod.]

Are you ready?

Oh...? What kind of place did it connect to when you were here last?

[Shing nods back, readying himself for a fight if there was going to be one.]

Y-yeah... I'm ready. Let's go.

It connects into a wooded area and out towards the beach if I recall correctly.

[With that signal, he began to push the door open with both hands and immediately a green scenery greeted them on the other end. Just as he's seen it. Klarth gave a disappointed sigh to that.]

The same it seems. I was hoping it would have been it though perhaps there's something even beyond here. What do you think?

Maybe the beach moved since you saw it last...?

[He frowns, peering through the gate again curiously.]

Do we want to risk it?

[He gave another settled sigh. Though something didn't seem right...]

Perhaps.

[He glanced at Shing.]

I suppose we'll never know unless we take a look. That's what we set out to do, was it not?

Yeah... that's right...

[After a few moments, Shing nods at Klarth before glancing at the door before them.]
