[See the little device automatically turn on while it sits on his desk as you see our summoner first get up in the morning. Having bed hair and stretching out as he sits himself at the edge of his bed in his light pajamas, what will be commanded of him today? He'll find out soon enough~]

I'll see what I can do. You like pastry? Would you mind having some of the reference books you've got pulled out when I arrive? We can get right to work that way.

[And there he goes as they speak to pull out those reference books and set them up. Not this again;;;]

A-Ah... y-yes, pastries will do.

[Reid still isn't absolutely certain it's a curse. He'll find out later when he's having a tea party with a little girl but right now, he hasn't a clue. He gets the coffee and the pastries then shows up at Klarth's house, juggling coffee and pastries to knock on the door.]

[He finishes setting things up and goes to open the door with a smile to be meeting the young man for the first time.]

You must be Spencer. A pleasure to finally met you, sir. Please come in.

[He offered to take the coffee from him as he guides them to the dining area where the books are spread out. The inside of the house, spotless as he remembers when helping Jennifer out.]

It's nice to meet you as well, Klarth. I still haven't gotten used to the idea of knowing people over the network without ever meeting them in person. [At home, Reid isn't a big fan of technology. He does come inside, still not thinking much of it. After all he came over with the intention of walking in the house]

Truly. I'm foreign to this type of technology as well.

[Klarth lightly laughed to that. The idea of communicating with someone miles apart was still a new concept to him as well. A technology which would prove very useful in his world and how nice it would have been to be able to contact Mirald with it despite being far away from home.]

It's a shame it's only possible within this world.

[Taking a glance at the table again, he saw the book flags sticking out and turned to Reid.]

Ah, I've yet to thank you for the book flags. They've made my work much easier to track and lessened my use of paper.

Actually, it's possible in my world as well. I was just never a big fan of email and cell phones. It's disturbing that someone can contact you no matter what or where you are.

[He looks to the book flags as well and back to Klarth]

You're welcome. I find them one of the most useful tools a researcher can have.

Oh, so you've already such methods of communication in your world then? Interesting. I could see why you would think that. What exactly is an e-e-mail? and cell phone?

Indeed. Now, if it'll only write and search itself for me, ha ha ha.

An e-mail is a letter sent over the computer, or a device much like this. A cell phone is a phone you take with you but they're evolving into mini computers that can do everything a larger computer can do. I think they're disconnecting society and isolating us from the world. Most people think they're responsible for creating a global society.

I believe there are research assistants that'll do some of that for you. [The last is said with a bit of a grin]

[He took a look at his own device in wonderment.] Much similar to these devices, hm... Disconnecting society... everything must have its pros and cons. Unfortunately, many take the convenient route.

[He smiled at Spencer.] However, I as well, prefer to sense the others presence before me and converse face to face.

[When he mentioned that he couldn't help widen his eyes a bit with a hint of skepticism.]

I see the necesscity for it. In my job it's important that we all be able to communicate across the country quickly. I just don't see why I need to know exactly where everyone is at every moment and what they're doing or vice versa. Not to mention how technology has destroyed the art of writing a letter and is quickly diminishing the need for our post office system.

[He takes a deep breath and then smiles, nervously tucking at hair that's too short to go behind his ears and rubbing his eyes. It's a twitch.]

Hm. I could certainly see that. I would imagine that the focus of education would shift as well. More will learn to use these devices than penmanship. I suppose a happy medium is necessary for all things. [Except alcohol~ He realizes that he's had him standing this whole time and gestures towards a seat.]

Ah, my apologies. Please have a se-- [He sees the twitch and asks concerned.] Are you all right?

I believe it has. Children aren't drilled on penmenship the way they used to. They learn word processing and internet research. Those are important parts of daily life in my world but I don't think the other should be neglected.

Oh. I'm fine. It's just a nervous tic that comes out sometimes when I am focusing or when I'm nervous.

[Ah, someone whom he can speak to on his level. Klarth felt good having Reid in his company. Though...]

[Sitting down himself, he takes a sip of the coffee Reid kindly brought him, giving a satisfied hum.]

Delicious. Ah, let's see now. What was it specifically that you wanted to know of, hm? Though the knowledge may cost you. [He teased with a chuckle.]

[He takes a seat and it feels odd. He'd take a seat regardless but it feels as if he can't avoid taking a seat. The question distracts him.]

An explanation of sorts about how your magic works, the theory and science behind it. [He looks a bit confused at the teasing. Reid doesn't always get when he's being teased] What sort of price? I don't make much money here teaching and I volunteer at the library. Maybe I could teach you something though, in return.

[He lightly laughed.]

I was only kidding, however, perhaps I may take you up on that offer some day. Either way, let's get started, shall we?
