I, for one, am quite grateful this month is nearly over. And to close it, let us hope there will be a peaceful day. This holiday isn't one of my world, however, since most do seem to celebrate it Happy Halloween everyone.

[Sound of stomach gurgling.]

Goodness am I hungry... [And shuts off the feed. The question is whether he's craving anything special or not~]

Oh, Happy Halloween to you as well!

[Estelle doesn’t quite know that people are cursed and eating each other yet.]

My friend and I will be handing out candy all day by the fountain and carousel if you’re interested. Of course, in order to get some, you must tell us how to get to the Halloween Town, as we are the cat-eared pumpkin witch sisters who got lost and found our way here!

Is that so? Unfortunately, I have no clue to where that may be. Is that something of your world?

Ah, Halloween Town is something my friend and I made up! We have decided to be cat-eared pumpkin witches for Halloween and are giving out candy. That is our story!

[The silence caught his attention and when she asked, his voice faltered a bit.]

A-Ah, my apologies if I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Klarth F. Lester. I'm a friend of Rita and Yuri, whom I believe are from your world.

For the occasion, I see. Though be cautious today. I've just been told there is a curse involving the feeding of one another.

[Did he truly want to see it? He gave a grim look.]

[He gave a nod.] I'm glad to hear. It seems best to remain inside today unless you have those affected within. The one benefit of living alone I suppose.

[Though the ticking was being to be a bother again.]

Though this does pose a problem. I had intended on visiting the library. [He deeply sighed in disappointment.]

Oh, there’s no need to apologize. It’s a pleasure to speak with you Klarth. And you are absolutely correct, Rita and Yuri are friends from my world.

[A bit of a pause as she considers the warning she was just given.]

I thank you for telling me. I shall be careful if there is such a curse going on today.

[Feeding of one another? Maybe she’s cursed into this ‘Halloween Spirit’ by wanting to give out candy and feed people. Though she wanted to do this before today, so she didn’t think there was terribly much to worry about, then.]

A pleasure as well. Yours and mine correlate greatly though unfortunately only on a hypothetical stance.

For the most part... I'm staying in today. One of my friends is cursed, and I'm letting him take the curse out on me...

The summon spirits, for one. Those you once call Entelexias I believe. I've formed pacts with those summon spirits of my world. And we too have a Giant World Tree protected by magic. Similarities though nothing solid.

[He gave a nod.] All right. Be careful.

...... [Just this face, Tyr.]

[ Oh let's clear this up quickly- ] I'm letting him lick me!

I'd slap him if he tried to bite me. And after what I did... It's pretty fair.

[You make it sound so simple... He deeply sighs.]

You have those in your world as well? So...you formed pacts with them instead of changing the Entelexeia into spirits? That's rather interesting. How does this pact work?

[She wants to know!]

Ah, wait, my apologies. I've misspoken. I have pacts with the form after those known as Entelexeias. Summon Spirits. The ones you know as Undine, the spirit of water, and Ifrit of fire. It's been a while since I've had this conversation with Rita.

[He happily chuckled and smiled, recalling his first meeting with her.]

As for the procedure, well, there are exception for some, however I'll explain the basic. In order to form a pact with these spirits a series of preparations including the possession of specific summoning artifacts is necessary-- Special rings that correspond to each spirit such as these.

[He held up the aquamarine ring to show.] For instance, this one in particular is for Undine. They'll then, more often than not, will request to challenge one to a battle in order to earn their trust and prove worthy of possessing such powers. That is how I've managed to form mine.

Unless one of them tries to break down the door. [ it hasn't happened yet, but he doesn't doubt that it could! And there is no ticking. He hears no ticking! ~~denial~~ ]

[ oh, but wait! ]

[ he hasn't been out much ]

[He could just hear the paranoia now and offered a weak smile.]

Aa, in front of Building II. Rich with quite a bit of information, even of those of other worlds.

That's... not far from me. [ he believes. The urban planning in this district was really quite ingenious ]

So you have to gain their trust via battle before they will form a pact with you? That sounds rather strange, but I must admit that it is preferable to having to kill an Entelexeia in order to turn it into a spirit, no matter how necessary it is to our plan.

[Though she nods after saying that.]

I thank you for your explanation. It does make sense how the process of forming a pact with spirits in your world now.

That's correct. Perhaps, though through the streams of time the proof of ones strength, both physically and mentally at heart, is what drives the people.

Not at all. Feel free to ask anytime. [He didn't often give away information for free but considering what he knows about Estelle from Rita, it was only fair.]

[Yep, and he knows that look too. Ah, the studious types.]

Yes perhaps it is. With the Entelexeia, they even stated that if we could not defeat them, then there would be no way to save our world. Perhaps that’s why the spirits ask you to battle them. If you cannot be entrusted with the world, then why should one form a pact with them?

[In a funny way, it makes complete sense in her mind now.]

[ urk, caught red-handed! ] Oh, there's no need for that. It's far too dangerous today to venture outside.

[ brushing the lint off his sleeve and trying not to look at Klarth. Liam couldn't ask someone else to risk their life, just because Liam had an itch to read! ]

Precisely. That is how I would see it as well.

[He lightly laughed to the boy's reaction.]

What if someone was able to defeat them that did not have, ah, good intentions for the world? Would they still form the pact?

[ well, he's not going to look a gift horse in the mouth more then once. ] Then your assistance would be most welcomed.

Ah... should I expect to see you outside the library in an hour? [ Wsa that too much time? It was difficult to judge considering the potential dangers awaiting outside. How tiresome. ]

[Whether it was too much or not, if the boy needed that time to get there then Klarth was willing to accommodate, especially since he was the one that offered to keep him company.]

Of course! [ please ignore that quaver in his voice ] I have received standard self defense training in several areas, as required of my status as a gentleman's aide.

I will see you there. [ he bows and moves to end the feed. One can't be too careful after all and the... phone could be a costly distraction. ]
